Thunders and Lightning
Yesterday afternoon started to rain pretty bad, there was lots of thunders and lightning. Mia was not happy about it, she was actually really scared of the thunders, she spend the whole evening in our laps/ arms until stop raining. it was so cute to see her jump everytime she heard them.
Memorial Day Weekend 09
We had a great Memorial Day weekend. On Saturday we took Mia for a bike ride to the Baltimore and Annapolis trail, after 1.5 miles we stop at the playground to go on the swings them we ride back.
In the afternoon we went to Shaun’s friends Chris for a BBQ, they have a moon bounce, swings and other games for the kids. Mia has a great time with the others kids and playing in the grass.

On Sunday we went to the National Zoo in DC, we had a great time Mia got so exited when she so the bear, some of the animal she couldn’t see cause they were kind of far and I think she can focus that well to actually see the animals when there is so many trees, rocks, etc. we walk the zoo for about 3 hours and after lunch we decide to go back because it was getting too busy.

On Monday we went shopping and spent the afternoon at home and have a great BBQ that Shaun made for us.
We had a great time and looking forward a this weekend because Aunt Tracy and Grandma Linda are coming.

14 Months Old
Today you are fourteen months old. You are a sponge right now, absorbing everything around you so it’s really enjoyable to help you along the way.
You still love your morning and evening bottles - love them. Hold them like they are your baby, We want it to break it before we go back and see Dr. Youn for the 15 month appointment, but we’ll see, I really don’t want you to stop drinking your milk, during the day you are all zippy cups and you are a pro using the straw. Right now not even considering breaking the paci habit - though you mainly only have them at night/naps unless you are extremely cranky.
You love your babies and your stuffed animals, and really any toy can substitute. You hug them and pat them and mother them before tossing them aside. There is not one toy that has stood out yet as your favorite, you still love them all for minutes at a time before moving on to another. Another thing is you love to dance, every time that you hear music or we told you to dance you are right on it.
You love the outside and pointing to everything you see. You give the best kisses and you blow kisses as well. You still don’t want to walk alone more than a couple steps, but you cruise and turbo crawl with the best of them (and can walk just fine holding onto one of our hands so I think you are just too stubborn to let go).
They say it just keeps getting better, and I can truly say I am loving how fast you learn things and how much more you can interact with us. It doesn’t mean I didn’t think the baby stage was wonderful - I loved the baby stage, having my head lying against yours and that baby smell. But it’s also exciting to see you becoming a true toddler and developing your personality which appears to be fairly independent and strong willed. Don’t know where you get that from… ;) But you are loving and happy and friendly as well, things I hope stay with you always.
I love you baby girl. I am looking forward to a great summer.
Love,
Mommy.

Mother's Day
For Sunday May 10 Mother’s day we stared the day going for breakfast at Friendly’s after breakfast we took Mia to the Clark’s Elioak Farm in Ellicott City, they have a petting zoo, a fairy tale forest and a enchanted forest pine tree maze. We has such a great time, Mia enjoyed all the figures from the enchanted Forest (the old women in a shoe, the 3 bears house, the 3 pigs house, Alice in wonderland, sleeping beauty, etc) the slides and all the animals at the farm, they have goats, sheep, donkeys, pigs, cows, ponies, turkeys, ducks, chickens, bunnies. It was the first time at the farm for all of us and it was more that I was expecting. It took about two hours to do all the displays and see all the animals. We also took a hayride around the farm. After that we went out to lunch and to Patricia’s house to see Aiden and we ended the day with a great BBQ that daddy make for us.
It was a great day and a perfect mother’s day.
Thank you Shaun and Mia for make that they so special, I hope you had as much fun as I had.
Love,
Mommy

Mia is 13 month old
You are talking more and more but I am apparently not very good at picking out the words. One that you use now is ‘up’, so that adds to the list of mama, dada, hi and teddy (missing at the moment) and more in Spanish (ma’). I know you have to be saying more than that, but I just can’t distinguish them yet. You are still great at answering questions and having conversations with us - you know what tone to use to answer, and are so adorable while you do it. As most toddlers, you learned how to shake yes and no and you use it particularly when telling us stories.
You are an amazing eater though there are a few things you don’t like - you don’t like bananas (weird for a baby), you are not crazy about pasta with tomato sauce. You have a sweet tooth like Mommy, you love Ice cream. You love meats from chicken to meatballs you love chesses, potatoes and strawberries. Bread and crackers are always favorites and you can’t get enough of the crunchies. We basically feed you whatever we are eating no more baby food. It amazes me what those gums are capable of chewing! She still only has hers two bottoms front teeth. That's it, two teeth! We even fed her chili last week.
You are so active I think you need every calorie of what you eat to get around every day. It’s great to introduce more foods and figure out your likes and dislikes - who know what this month will bring.
Non-toy favorite items include car keys, anything she can manage to grab out of my diaper bag before I take it away (wallets, cell phones, diapers, etc) remote control, bottles of water.
She also loves to open and close drawers, cabinets, and doors. This is not so much fun for us. You like the vacuum cleaner and help mommy and daddy to clean (you are very good with the swiffer).
You clap when you are happy our when we are singing to you, you point at things that you want, you say no with you finger, you wave bye bye. You sing ABC’s with daddy (well you try). You know were you eyes and nose are and you like to see at ours.
Mia - you are my baby girl even though you are growing up fast. Your daddy and I love you so much and are happy that we are moving into the stage when we can be affectionate with you. There is nothing better than a hug or kiss from our Mia.

Fisrt day
Mia started to go to the new daycare on FT. Meade Tuesday March 24. She was looking around and trying to figure out what we were doing there, she had this fake smile and she was waving to the caregivers. Shaun and I dropped her of around 7:05. She wanted to start to cry but Miss Carmen got her attention and distracted her while we were leaving.
When I called the center around 10:00 am they said that she was doing fine, that she cried a little but that her paci helped.
When Shaun picked her up in the afternoon they said that she had a great first day, she enjoyed water play with stuffed toys.
She had applesauce, French toast and milk for breakfast.
Hamburger patties, cheese, bum, tater tots, applesauce and milk for lunch.
And she had strawberry bars and juice for afternoon snack.
I can’t believe how things change when you are becoming a toddler, what happened to the baby food?

Mia Baptism and 1st Birthday party
Yesterday March 22nd 2009 we had Mia baptized and we also celebrate her 1st birthday party with our families and friends.
It was a busy morning we get up at 7:00 am to make sure that we got everything ready before mass, Mia was a doll, she did very well at church she even sang along the chorus.
After mass the Baptism started and she was on a talking mode it was so funny she was so into it. The ceremony last for about 30 to 40 minutes and them we took pictures, I had these two beautiful headbands that I wanted her to ware but it was impossible to put it on her head.
After the church we head up to La Fointane Bleue for the party. The decoration or theme for the party was candy land, so we had lost, lost of candies.
It was so nice to have everybody there celebrating with us such a special occasion. From 2:30 to 6 we celebrated Mia’s baptism and 1st birthday. There were lots of foods, cake, and candy, everything was delicious, we are so happy that everything came out as we imagine.
I think my favorite part was when we sat Mia on her highchair so she can enjoy her smashing cake; it was so much fun watching her.
A big thank you to everyone who could come celebrates Mia’s birthday - it was so much fun, and Mia seemed to really enjoy everything going on.
We didn’t open the presents until we got home and she did well with the gift opening. It’s hard to tell what her favorite thing to play with is, and there were lots of fun clothes to look fashionable in this summer too.
Thank you everyone for your generosity - we appreciate your friendship and hope you had a good time at the party as well.
It’s been such a great wonderful year and it wouldn’t have been the same without all our wonderful friends and family.
Love,
The Cronks.
