It has been a very long time since we have updated our blog. Owen is 2 and Mia 5. I cannot believe how time flies. It really needs to go a bit slower, so we can enjoy our precious little ones! Mia is about to graduate from Pre-K, and Owen is a bundle of surprises. His vocabulary is becoming very clear, and he basically has full conversations now, with the exception of a few mumbles here and there.

CHRISTMAS IS IN THE AIR
Can you believe Christmas is only 3 weekends away? This past weekend we went to visit Santa @ the mall. She was so happy to see him, she gave him a big hug and told him that she is going to make him cookies and put him milk on Christmas Eve. He asked her what she was going to leave Rudolph and Mia said: a carrot. After that we went to a Christmas party @ FT Meade. Here are a couple of pictures of the event:

32 MONTHS OLD
Whoa! It has been a long time since our last post. Mia is 32 Months old and it seems like yesterday that she was just a tiny baby. Now, she is a big girl who likes to jump, run around and do cool tricks, act as a ballerina, and use our foot board as a balancing beam. She still loves her dolls and play-doh. She also likes to play swords with her daddy...and of course win! She likes to help around the house by cleaning, but only when it's not her own mess. She has finally discovered that M&M's are not the only chocolate candy (thanks to Halloween). Now she asks for Hershey chocolate bars, Milky Ways or even tootsie rolls. She has become a fashionista because now she picks out what she wants to wear and she loves shoes. Mia's vocabulary is amazing (in English). She makes sense in every sentence she states. She uses word like: belongs, actually, enough.
At times we take it for granted that she is very mature and expect so much, yet come to the realization that she is only 2 years old. She is our little baby and always will be! She absolutely loves to be pampered, and enjoys hugs and kisses. She is still daddy's little girl and loves to be the princess of the house. Of course she can be stubborn when she doesn't get her way, for instance, when she is watching a cartoon and it is time for a nap or shower/bath, she says "2 more minutes". Her favorite media are Wow Wow Wubzy, Dino Dan, Ni Hao Kailan, and Maltilda.
Her favorite color still: pink.
Her favorite Ice Cream Flavor is Vanilla and she doesn’t like chocolate milk.
She knows her colors and shapes (triangle, square, circle).
Love,
Mommy and Daddy

A BIG GIRL
Mia is growing up so fast! She is 29 months old now and is loving life! We love every minute with her. Here are some funny things she does and some of her accomplishments:
She is potty trained! Yesterday we received a note on her daily sheet from the daycare and was in big pink market " POTTY TRAINED". Woohoo for our baby girl. She was in the basement with daddy and told him that she had to go poo poo. Shaun was cleaning and she said daddy it's ok I will do it. She went upstairs, and Shaun gave her 5 minutes. He went up there and she actually did it by herself and wiped her heiny. She said daddy, I am big!
You also wake up in the middle of the night and wake us up because you need to go potty.
You sing so many songs now, and sing them well! (ABC’s, twinkle twinkle, ba ba black sheep, the itsy bitsy spider, the wheels on the bus and many more.
You even attempt to read the books to Mommy and Daddy.
Yesterday she called Mommy Ma’ for the first time. Not Mommy but Ma’.
Mia is into movies now; her favorite movies are Matilda and nanny Mcphee.
She watched the movie and asked us questions about the movie, it’s so cute.
She still loves stickers and now her favorite snack is marshmallows.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the little glimpse into your life as a 29 month old. You are so much fun and keep us laughing all the time and you keep us on our toes as well!

JULY 2010
Wao is been a long time since our last post. We’ve been so busy. Where to startOk July:
For 4th of July we went to Ft. Meade. Mia play football with Paul, danielle and Daddy. She run around, played on the moonbounce, got a balloon animal and had a great time with the family. she also watch the fire works for the first time, at first she was a little scared and covered her ear, but them she was able to enjoy them.

We also took a week vacation to go to Dominican Republic to visit my family, also we were able to attended to Alain’s high school graduation and Aiden’s baptism. After that we spent a couple of days at Iberostart Costa Dorada beach and Resort. We had a great time Mia love the pool, no so much the beach, she loved to put on her bathing suit and go in the water she looked forward to that everyday. She survived on ice cream, French fries and apple juice. yeap that basically all she ate. She did really well at the airport and on the plane, this was Mia’s 3rd time on a plane and she loves that now she gets her on seat. Back at my parent she was bear feet all day and with a top and pull ups it is so hot there that she didn’t want to wear pants.
She loved to play with all of her cousins especially with Lia, Miky and Alain. She is so bossy she keeps telling them what to do and where to go.
Back to the states she didn’t want to go back to the daycare, I don’t blame her I didn’t want to go back to work either.
Here are a few pictures of our trip.

Where did they go
The other day Karina and I were in the basement in the laundry room and Mia was in the other side playing with her toys. Well apparently she discovered we were not in there with her and went up the 2 flight of stairs looking for us. I asked Karina if she heard the footsteps running up stairs, and she didn't , so I asked her to look out to see if Mia was there playing still...well she wasn't. So Karina went up stairs and discovered she went to the second floor looking for us, because she thought we left her.

EASTER WEEKEND
This year was your first year egg hunting and it was so much fun. Your first egg hunting was at FT. Meade. Aunt Tracy, aunt Jenn, Grandma Linda, Daddy and I were there, we colored and walk around until it was time. You were in the younger category 0 to 4 years old, we got 11 eggs, no bad for you first time, and of course Mommy helped you.So for Easter weekend we went to NJ. Aunt Tracy and aunt Jenn got you a really nice Easter basket with bubbles, bracelets, necklaces, crayons and much stuffs. Them we went to cookies house (Aunt Jenn mother) and they had a egg hunting for you in the backyard, you had so much fun and you love your eggs, also Cookie got you a beautiful Easter basket with a baby doll, an unicorn, an egg that you put in water and a chicken comes out of it. (The egg still in water and started to hatch). Sherry also got you a basket with a Dora the explorer book that you want to read right away, bunny ears, a set of plate and forks. Aunt Josie got you a beautiful dress and a hat.
We came back on Sunday to get more eggs around the house and a small Easter basket from mommy and daddy.
You were a little sick this weekend; we started to give you some iron since your hemoglobin is a little low and the doctor suggested for us to give it to you for two weeks to bust it up.
Today Monday you were feeling much better and happier.
I will leave you with some images of my girl egg hunting.

MIA IS TWO YEARS OLD
I’m not really sure how to even start this. Today marks the day you entered our life, you were teeny and tiny and just perfect. I can’t imagine you not being you – and your name Mia fits you just wonderfully still this day.In the last month we’ve seen some signs of a 2 year old appear – in the form of not listening. It’s like you have cotton in your ears! You want to play, we want you to have a change of pull ups … these things aren’t compatible apparently so you ignore us.
Another big sign “independence”. One of the most common phrases heard around our house these days is ‘me do it’. And you do.
You start each day by asking to go downstairs immediately – even though every day we remind you we have to change your pull up first and get you dressed. Every day we go through this.
You love to be tickled and your dad is great at that with you.
When you turned one you were barely even cruising around holding on to things, and now you run. You kick and throw balls. You jump. You dance. Its hard to remember when you could barely toddler wobbles along.
You are in size 5.5 shoes. You are 25 lbs and you are wearing 24 months clothing.
You take great care of your dolls and yesterday you even pretend to changed Aiden’s diaper.
I have so many fun stories I could share, but it’s hard to put them all down. Here are just a couple more fun things.
- You love all living creatures – especially codie, Jacobs and blackie (Aunt Tracy’s and Aunt Jenn pets). So we are definitely taking you to the zoo.
- You are daddy’s little girl for sure – you follow him around when he is working on something with tools or cooking in the kitchen. He let you sit on the counter top so you can watch him.
We love you very very much. You have given us two wonderful and amazing years so far, and I look forward to this next year.
I hope you have a wonderful birthday today!
Love,
Mommy

Mia is 23 months old
Okay, I looked at the date on my computer and was like…whoa… Mia is only a month away from being 2. That’s crazy! And yet, that means today you are 23 months old sweetie. Wow. How are you growing so fast?!You really have begun to develop your own unique and fun personality. You are definitely independent for sure. If we help you to do something you get upset and said: let Mia do it.
You love to dance and sing and be the center of attention. You still love cuddles, hugs and kisses from mommy & daddy – I hope that never changes, its one of my favorite things.
You talk up a storm these days – most things are a whole phrases: Where daddy goes, help me mommy, it’s not working, more please. You always amaze me. You are growing up! You can also sing songs pretty well and you can count to 10 in English and Spanish. Another new development is colors you know which one is white and which one is pink, you know that the color of your eyes and daddy’s eyes is blue. You love to count the school buses and trucks and sign songs on the way to school and on the way home.
We are still working in the potty training, you go and pee in the potty, but we are having a hard time when it come to poop.
It’s being 6 nights that you don’t use your pacifier even though you ask for it all the time.
You love to read, you want us to read you 3 and 4 books at the time. You like to camp in the living room and hide form us; you like to help around the kitchen cooking and put dishes away.
I know I haven’t captured everything, but at least you get a glimpse into how you were at 23 months. We love you so much and are so glad you came into our lives 23 months ago.
Love Mommy.

22 months old
You were 22 months old on Tuesday. The last couple weeks has really marked a turn in your verbal progression – instead of just one word you try to say phrases with 2, 3, sometimes even more words. We don’t always understand you but its fun to see you mind figure it all out.
You also are physically moving along – almost getting the jumping thing down, running around like a champ, walking up and down stairs just holding on to hands or handrails. I think you are taller and you definitely feel heavier
You definitely have a fun personality – loving, sweet, fun and playful with an independent streak for sure. You are stubborn but not too much – most of the time. Just enough for us to know you are your own person and I think that’s a good thing.
You LOVE Ice cream and M & M’s you can it them all the time and you know where to find them.
You can sign the ABC’s, twinkle twinkle little start and a new some about apple trees that they taught you at school but I don’t know which one it is .
I can’t believe that in two months you will be two years old.
I love you very much.

21 Months
Mia turned 21 months today. Today she finally witnessed what a real snow storm is. She has really progressed with her speaking skills. She is now using a few words in a row. Things such as "Mommy I am falling", "Daddy sit down", "It is raining out", "I have to go pee-pee". This past month seems to have been a little more hectic than others, i assume from the terrible twos, but that is off and on. There are times when Mia will be sitting with me, and we will look at each other and just start cracking up. Neither of us have an idea why we crack up, we just do, and it completely acceptable because to see Mia laugh is a prize in itself. I really like when Mia wants to snuggle with the three of us. This month Mia also caught the RSV virus. The easiest way to explain what it is, is to imagine your lungs as normal tree branches with leaves, however with the RSV virus, the branches become thinned out leaving the leaves with little oxygen. In essence Mia's lungs were not getting the appropriate oxygen, causing her to cough very badly at night. The doctor put her on a nubulizer which is actually used for people with asthma, however they have realized that it also helps with RSV because the the effects of asthma are very similar. She is now doing much better, and is running around all over again. Mia now knows my other name is Shaun and Mommy's other name is Karina. She can also say 1 to 10 in English and Spanish. She also knows that credit cards are used for shopping, and uses our old cards to pretend she is shopping. She knows when mommy is not here that she is working. She also likes to pretend I am a horse and give her horsey rides. We are blessed and we will continue to cherish each moment we possibly can with Mia. I love you Mia, love your daddy.

YOU ARE 20 MONTH OLD
You are growing up fast – 20 months old today. I can hardly believe it. You really seem like you are becoming a big girl, more so every day and it is so fun to see the world through your eyes.
I think every day you learn new words – lately there has been: thank you, please, hurry, shoe off, fork and you are trying to sing songs as well. You ask us to sing ABCD, old Mcdonald had a farm and one in Spanish a, e, i, o, u. you favorite toys are legos and play doh. You also like to play ring around the rosy, hide and seek, horse (go on daddy’s back while he crawl around the living room).
We love you very much baby girl. Happy 20 Months Birthday!

Aunt Tracy's time with Mia
This past weekend was such a nice weekend. I got to spend it with you, Mommy and Daddy for Mommy's birthday. And to my surprise, you asked for me all weekend long. When we went out to dinner at Ikea, we ate together and I helped feed you. Then we played walked half of the store and you played in the children's area. I kept you occupied while Mommy and Daddy looked at big girl beds for you. That was a great night. Then the next morning, Daddy brought you downstairs when you first woke up and you cuddled with me on the couch for about a second and then as soon as you realized Codie was right there, you got down and hugged and kissed Codie all morning and afternoon long. You asked me to sit down on the floor to play "Yego Yego", which means Lego's. I loved every moment I got to spend with you this weekend. It's amazing how quickly you are growing and each time I see you, Mommy and Daddy taught you something new. For example, ever since you got bit is school, Daddy has been very upset and decided to teach you to talk back. So when I asked you if I could bite you, you said "NO NO". Or when I asked how old you were, you said "Uno". That was a big surprise. I think what surprised me the most is when you pointed to your diaper and said, "Pee Pee". Mommy and Daddy explained to me that you now pee pee on the potty when you say that. So I brought you upstairs to go and you said "Tacy pee pee", and you meant that you wanted me to go too. And as soon as I started going, I heard funny noises. And come to find out, you don't only know how to pee pee on the toilet, apparently Mommy and Daddy taught you how to poo poo too!! Of course, I had no idea what to do, so Daddy had to show me. Sunday morning was the best. Daddy brought you downstairs again, when you first woke, and shortly after that, we all went to Walmart so Mommy and Daddy could go food shopping. Almost the entire time we were there, you asked for me. So I decided to walk you over to the toys department and ride on what you call a "bikey". You loved it. Then we looked at Elmo dolls and eventually Mommy and Daddy came over to join us. I love spending time with you Mia and can't wait to see you again so you can surprise me with something new that Mommy and Daddy taught you!!

HALLOWEEN
This last weekend was Halloween and it seems that you liked it. You still go around the house with you basket trick or treating giving candy to daddy and me.
You’ve been sick for over a week now, you first had a sinus infection and now you have a cold, which is why you couldn’t go to the school harvest because instead you went to the doctor’s office.
On Saturday we took you to Michael’s for a Halloween event that they had. You got a purple bucket with a black witch on it, a balloon, a Halloween frame (that we have to make) and a pencil with a play-doh monster (that daddy made for you). Then we took you for lunch at Friendly’s. We went home for a nap and in the afternoon we took you to the mall for trick or treating. You look so beautiful on you ladybug outfit. Afterwards you did a few stores of trick or treating definitely got the concept. We haven’t let you eat any of the candy yet. I’ll probably let you eat the lollipops.
Mia it is so much fun watching you grow up. I can’t wait for Christmas.

19 months old
Today you are 19 months old. It seems like just yesterday I was writing your 18 month old post – time really is flying by these days.My favorite thing of you is how loving you are – I’ve mentioned it before, but this month you have bloomed even more, wanting to hug everyone and you give us the sweetest cuddles and tell us ‘I L’ You’ – which just melts my heart every time.
I think every day you learn new words, your vocabulary is increasing everyday, mostly because you try to copy everything we say, but a special toddler dictionary is required to decipher most of what you say – lately there has been: Shhhhh...Noise, sit down, Papas (potatoes), play doh, bed, shoe, sock, hair, pee pee, potty, and cookie. You started to sing the ABC’s. You can say a, b, c, d. I think my favorite word is when you say I love you. You called Aunt Tracy sisi. When we ask you: how old are you? You say: UNO. When we ask you: how do you say Daddy in Spanish? You say: papi.
You like to talk on the phone. You ask us all the time to call Nina (Aunt Patricia) and Aiden.
Today at the daycare you are going to start to transition to another room (18 to 24 month); they will start taking you for an hour or two so you can get used to the new room, the kids and the providers.
You’ve been sick for the last week, you have a sinus infection, but you are a champ. You’ve been taking you antibiotics like we are giving you candy, you even ask for more.
You are such a joy and so much fun to watch you play around the house and help us clean and fold the laundry.
We love you very much baby girl, and I know I can’t call you baby girl much longer – I’m still clinging on tight.

POTTY TRAINING
Mia will be 19 months old in 5 days, I never thought that she was ready for Potty train yet, but back is July she started to be interested on what Shaun and I were doing in the bathroom so Shaun went to babies r us and got her a potty. We thought that it will be a good idea to just get her use to the potty. Must of the time that we go to the bathroom we take her with us, she sat on the potty while I sat on the toilet but she never did anything until yesterday.
Yesterday went I came back form work Shaun called me upstairs were he was with Mia and told Mia: Show mommy. Mia went to the bathroom and I followed her and I asked her: what happened Mia, what do you want to show me? She sat on the potty and Shaun told her: Mia don’t see there, show mommy, so when I looked on the potty there it was “pee pee”. Mia peed on the potty for the first time.
Here is the story:
Shaun was getting her ready for her bath when Mia took her diaper off, so he told her: Mia sit on the potty and do pee pee until I come back with you towel, Shaun went to her room and got her stuffs together and went back to the bathroom and asked her: did you pee? And Mia said yes. He didn’t believe her but them he saw it in the potty.
Congrats to you Baby girl in this new achievement.

This Weekend
A lot had happened this last weekend; first on Friday Shaun got a phone call from the CDC (Child Development Center) Mia got bitten by one of the other toddlers, they did not want to disclosed any information with Shaun of who was the kid, they give us an accident report where it says that miss Carmen was the provider in charge at the moment, the time, that it did not break the skin and that they clean her arm with soap and water.
When I got home we took Mia to the store and got her a stuff animal (a pink pig)
And took her to Chick-fil-a for dinner and to play and ended the night with an ice cream cone.
On Saturday we took Mia to Michael’s craft store for a pumpkin craft day, we (Shaun and I) help Mia to decorate the pumpkin. After that we went to cicis pizza for lunch since grandma Linda was with us and she never been to a pizza buffet.

In the afternoon Aunt Tracy, aunt Jen and Cody came to visit form NJ and we went out for dinner to celebrate aunt Tracy’s birthday at Duclaw.
On Sunday we went Pumpkin and Apple picking at Baugher’s in Westminster, MD.
We had a great time Mia pick up her first apple from a tree and eat it right away. We took lots of pictures; walk around for a while, them we went back to the store to pay for the apples and to take a Hyde ride to the pumpkin patch.

Mia pick up her own pumpkin, she play on the Hyde and walked around the field. The weather was really nice. After that we went to the Baugher’s restaurant for lunch and of course we had to have some pie and ice cream.

Them we went home to bake some cookies. Aunt Tracy wanted to this with Mia and they both had a great time doing it.
Cheers to a great weekend with the family and for many more to come!!!

Aunt Tracy wanted to this with Mia and they both had a great time doing it.Cheers to a great weekend with the family and for many more to come!!!
